(The only reason I waited so long to leave a review is because I wanted to see exactly how long my hair would take to convert but it's seriously damaged. Being that it's been this long should tell any natural to RUNNNNN away from this shop!)

First, thank God for Sonia. She is a blessing and a very kind spirit. I knew this before even meeting her in person. I contacted her by text after finding her online. She took the time to ask and answer questions; and learn about my hair care needs. When I learned that she sometimes has 15 clients in her salon, I was a bit nervous. But I saw her hair gallery on her website and wanted my hair to look like that. So, I gave her a chance. I am so happy I did!

Sonia, thank you for making my hair look and feel fabulous! I can’t wait until my next appointment.

It has been a very long time since I have had a stylist that make me completely happy with my hair. I moved to the Jackson metro area in 2004. It has taken me 13 years to find a stylist like Sonia. She is professional, nice as can be, and prompt. How she runs her salon is nothing short of amazing! My appointment was at 4:45. She was done by 7:35. What makes this so amazing is that I counted at least 10 clients (including myself) in there at one time. Ladies, I was in and out in less than 3 hours all while she had 10 clients to take care of. But astonishingly, I never felt “rushed”. Sonia is a working professional. She understands and respects that her clients are working professionals as well. When Sonia was working on my hair, I felt like I was her only client. She gave me her full attention. The atmosphere was relaxing. Her salon had the feel of a boutique and was beautifully decorated. The chairs were all very comfortable. The shampoo was phenomenal and felt like a head massage.

This is my time reviewing a salon. Mostly because I have never had all good things to say. With that, I apologize ahead of time for the length of this review because I have a lot of good things to say.

After researching this stylist on her website, I was eager to give her a shot! Unfortunately, shortly after arriving for the appointment, I began to be disappointed. The first downfall I encountered was that she completely overbooked herself. I was scheduled for a silk press at 4:30 and didn't leave until 8:30ish. Now, if you don't know, Sonia requires the client to come by for a consultation prior to scheduling the appointment. So she knew exactly what she was getting ready to encounter prior to the appointment. However, she was still overbooked and constantly had me to get out of the chair and wait on others to get done while I sat and waited. Which, honestly, I wouldn't mind doing if the atmosphere was pleasant. Unfortunately, she made the atmosphere horrible with her attitude. She treated her assistant like complete crap and she complained about my hair the entire time she was doing it. (YES, she has an assistant and it still took 4 hours to do my hair.) She kept asking why did I go natural and that I should get a relaxer. (Not once did she try to get to know me or why I chose to go natural. She never tried to educate me on how to care for my natural hair. She just constantly bashed my hair.)Unfortunately, I didn't catch on to this at the consultation or I would have never made the appointment. ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT, she damaged my hair. At the time of my appointment, I had been natural 3 years. I have had several silk presses by multiple people but none of them had vacancies for the time frame that I needed. She was my last resort and I surely did pay for it (literally & figuratively). My appointment was on November 4, 2016. It is in now March 2, 2017 and my hair is still damaged. Meaning, part of it did not convert back to its natural state. She claimed to be such a professional and so good with natural or relaxed hair but based off of my personal experience, I would not recommend ANY natural to go to her. I am highly upset with what happened. I mean everything from the customer service, price, and service was nothing short of disappointing. If I could give negative stars I would have. The experience I had was just that bad.

I work out five days a week. The sweat, hair dryer, and flat iron made my hair thin and brittle. It looked lifeless. No other stylist has been able to bring my hair back to life. Sonia applied just the right products to make my lifeless hair beautiful and full again. She gave me a fabulous cut too. Even my husband noticed. Usually when I go to the salon, he cannot tell the difference. He could this time. Thanks to Sonia and her hair taming skills!
